Legislative Update: How The Sawmill Bill Would Help Local Builders
On March 19, the NC House voted 114-1 to pass HB184: Promote NC Sawmills Act. The bill, if it passes into law, would enable North Carolina’s builders to use more locally-sourced, higher quality lumber in residential construction projects. In this Lunch andLearn, attendees will meet with Randall Williams, owner of Fireside Lumber Company & Sawmill, based in Alamance County, to discuss the details of the bill. Randall has been on the team working on the legislation since 2021.
